Work on rest day<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<blockquote>\n<p>(a) In the case of an employee employed on a daily, hourly or other similar rate of pay who works on a rest day, he shall be paid for any period of work&#8211;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>(i) which does not exceed half his normal hours of work, one day&#8217;s wages at the ordinary rate of pay; or<\/li>\n<li>(ii) which is more than half but does not exceed his normal hours of work, two days&#8217; wages at the ordinary rate of pay.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<blockquote>\n<p>(b) In the case of an employee employed on a monthly rate of pay who works on a rest day, he shall be paid for any period of work &#8212;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>(i) which does not exceed half his normal hours of work, wages equivalent to half the ordinary rate of pay for work done on that day; or<\/li>\n<li>(ii) which is more than half but which does not exceed his normal hours of work, one day&#8217;s wages at the ordinary rate of pay for work done on that day.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<blockquote>\n<p>(c) For any work carried out in excess of the normal hours of work on a rest day by an employee mentioned in paragraph (a) or (b), he shall be paid at a rate which is not less than two times his hourly rate of pay.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Example: monthly rated employees with normal working 8 hours<\/p>\n<p>A. OT on Normal Days: 1.5 x Hourly Rate of Pay<\/p>\n<p>B. OT on Rest\/Off Day:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Half of the O.R.P<br \/>\nfor that day if the period of work does not exceed half his normal hours of work (&lt;= 4 hours)<\/li>\n<li>1 day&#8217;s O.R.P<br \/>\nworks are more than half of normal of work but not exceed normal of work (&gt; 4 and &lt;= 8 hours)<\/li>\n<li>2 times hourly rate of pay<br \/>\nPeriod of work exceed s normal hours of work (&gt;=8 hours)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>C.
